Cheers to Britmums

Those lovely people over at Britmums - a great blogging network for parents - were kind enough to let me write a guest post for them to bring in the New Year...pop over and take a look to see what's on offer at Britmumsblog.com and check out my post while you are there: http://www.britmumsblog.com/2013/01/write-a-novel-and-get-published-kerry-fisher-tells-you-how

Happy New Year to you all

  1. Found you through the BritMums guest post.

I've finished my second (sadly unpublished) MS and feeling very frustrated with trying to get the opening chapters right so your post was perfect timing. A much needed boost/kick-up the rear to keep at it.

Good luck with The Class Ceiling.

  2. Lesa, you know, it's such a tough, tough game. I really sympathise. I've often thought I should just stop but have discovered I can't. I get grumpy if I don't write. You do need to keep at it. When I lacked inspiration or felt that I was stuck, I went to writing festivals, or workshops, just to be able to talk to other writers, or maybe even take away one tiny comment that helped me move on from feeling that I wasn't moving forward. There's a good writing festival at York in September, run by the Writer's Workshop http://www.writersworkshop.co.uk but I see you are in N.Ireland. Have you thought about taking an online course...I've done loads and they've been very good for motivation. UCLA (University of California) has a great writers' programme, I really learnt a lot with them. (If you want to ask any specific questions that you don't want to share with the world, drop me a private email - email under About me) All the best, good luck.
